What is the reason to celebrate Christmas?

Christmas for many is about gifts and food, lights, Christmas decors and family gathering. While all these are good, the true reason to celebrate Christmas is more than that. Christmas is attributed to an event in history also accounted in the Bible of how the God of all creation sent His only begotten son Jesus Christ born of a virgin into the world to give Hope to mankind that is plaque by sins…

This Hope, Jesus Christ indeed calls for a celebration of His coming into the world every year. This very act, pictures of the amazing love God has for His workmanship and that is you and me. And the reason for His coming is also clearly revealed in one verse. And that is to “save us from our sins.” Because our sins if not repented on and forgiven of God through Jesus Christ, then the payment for that is our condemnation in Hell for all eternity…

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Matthew 1:21

So the Hope that Jesus brings to mankind has a condition attached to it. And the condition is for us to repent of our sins and put our Faith and trust in Jesus Christ, for the work He has done on the cross, shedding His Blood for us to pay for our sins instead of us rotting in Hell for the punishment of our sins. May we all view Christmas in the manner that the Bible teaches us so our celebration has a great depth and meaning for the Hope we have in Christ Jesus…

What is Life and its Purpose?

When we are born into the world, God has given us Life. So Life is the state of being alive. Being alive though does not really give a full sense of what Life is. After we are born and raised and go face the world on our own, that’s were we ask ourself, what is Life for me? What is my purpose? We are not created merely to live and die. For if that’s the case, then there’s no point of having Life. So Life has a greater purpose than just work and survive.

To understand the true purpose of Life we have to look at it in God’s perspective. God created us for a reason. And if we believe that we exist out of Bing Bang or Evolution, then believing these theories will even void our existence. A few verses in the Bible would give us an idea what is the ultimate purpose of Life…

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Ephesians 2:10

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

1 Corinthians 10:31

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

Matthew 22:37

Now we understand a little bit about the real design of Life. Which is always towards producing good results for God’s glory and centered on having a genuine love for the God of the Bible even Jesus Christ. God even has a greater purpose for Life and that is for all humanity to Trust in Jesus Christ so we could all have Eternal Life to live with our Creator in all eternity…

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

Why should we not pray or worship graven images?

God hates idolatry and we have a direct command from God the Father not to worship graven images.

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

Exodus 20:4-5

And it is also revealed to us that God is a Spirit (so is Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit) and we should worship Him not with graven images but Spiritually knowing by Faith that He hears us when we pray for He is an omni-present God.

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

John 4:24

What is Eternal Life?

  • All man born on earth has a body, spirit and soul. While our body is mortal, our spirit and soul is eternal. So “Eternal Life” is life after our death on earth. It’s a spiritual life which could mean spending eternity in Hell or in Heaven.
  • Eternal life as the Bible says can only be found in Jesus.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 6:23

What is Hell?

  • Hell is a place of eternal torment or suffering created of God for those who would rebel and reject Jesus Christ. This is the place Satan and his followers are destined to go. And the others who would deny and reject Christ Jesus in their lifetime.
  • In the Book of Mark, Jesus mentioned hell 3 times and what’s in there.

… Cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

Mark 9:43-48

What is Heaven?

  • The sky and the universe are referred to as heaven in the Bible. They are the first and the second Heaven.
  • But the dwelling place of God is described as the third Heaven where no spaceship or telescope or anyone could reach. It is in the North side of the universe. This is the place where all those who believe and trust Jesus Christ would go and dwell one day.
  • Description of God’s dwelling place is described in Revelation 22:1–5

What is the Gospel?

The Gospel is the good news about God’s plan of Salvation for all sinners which is through Jesus Christ. The Lamb of God who was offered in payment for the sins of each one who is born into the world. His death, burial and resurrection completes God’s requirement of a “Perfect Sacrifice”. And anyone who would trust and believe this Truth will receive “Eternal Life” from God the Father. Have you received Jesus Christ?

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

1 Corinthians 15:3-4
